IPM or CLAT or just BBA

I’ve just completed Class 12 (PCB – Physics, Chemistry, Biology) and I’m currently waiting for my results.

Initially, I planned to prepare for NEET, but I’ve now realistically dropped that idea as it’s not within my reach anymore.

For the past few months, I’ve been exploring two main career options: Law and Management.

I’ve already appeared for some private university entrance exams (like Christ University for bba llb) and cleared them, but I’m not fully satisfied with settling there right now. I want to aim for a better/top-tier college.

So I’ve decided that I’m okay with taking a drop year to prepare properly.

Now the main confusion:

Option 1: Law (CLAT)

- CLAT is in December (~6–7 months from now)

- I have a decent interest in law and feel it suits my background (non-maths)

- If I crack it, I can get into a top NLU and follow a structured legal career path

Option 2: Management (IPMAT)

- IPMAT is about a year away

- Leads to integrated BBA+MBA from IIMs

- I feel management also suits my personality (adaptability, fast thinking, leadership)

- But I don’t have a strong maths background, which could be a disadvantage

Constraints:

- I don’t want to join a mediocre college

- I’m willing to take a drop year, but I want to use it wisely

- I’m also considering that if neither works out, I can attempt Christ University for bba hons again next year

Main confusion:

- Which path should I prioritize during my drop year: CLAT or IPMAT?

- Is it a bad idea to try preparing for both?

- Which option has a better risk-reward balance given my background?

I’d really appreciate honest advice, especially from people who have been through either of these paths.
