Is this an overkill?
TLDR: Wife & family joke about me for carrying 24/7; I’m starting to wonder if my habits are overkill.
For context, I’m 21, and my FIL gifted us (M21, F20) a G43x. For about 4 months, it just sat on my desk in the back of our home- figured we wouldn’t really need it for anything besides home invasion.
It finally occurred to me that after a trespassing scare caught on our Ring camera that having it in the back of the house renders it virtually useless in an emergency situation.
FIL carries 24/7, and essentially said if you aren’t going to keep it on your person at all times, why own it?
Have started trying to get into the habit of keeping it on me like my keys or wallet; around the house, to the mailbox, anywhere we go out.
Wife regularly makes comments and pushes back on CC with comments like “Why do you need that?”, “Little overkill?”, or “Paranoid much?” whenever I get dressed in the morning, or go out to eat.
So, is this truly overkill, or just good practice?
Lastly, in your experience, is it worth getting a license even in oc/cc states like GA? And how do you guys manage to recreate the adrenaline rush you experience in a real world situation while training?
