You must interview at least 2 massage therapists. Example: Section E and F can be combined by interviewing 1 massage therapist who owns an establishment.

E. (40pts) Interview an OWNER of a massage establishment licensed in the state in which you intend to practice. Answer the following questions as a guide to create dialogue.

List the name of the business and owner
Address
Describe the nature of the massage therapy practice.
What services and products are offered at the establishment?
List the specific consumers, organizations, or businesses that the establishment primarily serve.
Explain the competitive advantage (s) that you believe make the practice successful?
Attach the establishment’s brochure or methods of advertisements.

F. (40pts) Interview a SELF-EMPLOYED massage therapist licensed in the state in which you intend to practice. Answer the following questions?

Therapist and/or business name
Address/Location
How long have you been in practice?
What obstacles did you have to overcome?
What are some of the smartest decisions you made in terms of business success
What are some poor decisions or mistakes that you think I can avoid?
What the keys to long-terms success in the profession?
What would you suggest I do while in school to prepare me for the profession?
How has your business model changed over time.

G. (40pts) Interview a massage therapist licensed in the state you intend to practice that provides services as an INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR. Answer the following questions.

Therapist and/or business name
Address/Location
What are the terms and conditions of the agreement within the contracts?
Compensation arrangement (% split, flat rate, room rate, days, hours, etc.)
What is the arrangement for supplies, linens, laundry, products, etc.?
How is the clientele established?
What is the marketing and advertising medium have worked best for the therapist?
