Walmart chilled rotisserie chicken is a must buy.
I know a lot of people don't like Walmart but hear me out. Walmart has rotisserie chickens for $3.97, they are a bit smaller than Costco's but if you are on SNAP you can buy the chilled ones on SNAP at Walmart. I have been buying two of them, casually stripping most of the meat, and then using the bones and whatever meat and skin is left with a bag of frozen mire poix mix to make over 4 quarts of high quality chicken stock that is better than anything you can buy in the store for 8$/quart. My roommate and I have been doing this instead of buying lunch meat for the past few months and I must say it is an upgrade.
Instead of ~9$ for 2lbs of lunch meat we get over 2.5lbs(you could get more if you were more careful in the carving of the chicken) of chicken meat(without nitrates and preservatives) and a healthy amount(at least 4 quarts) of highly nutritious chicken stock for the same price.
