Non-romantic matchmaking app for Pool players

This is my pool-related shower thought that just popped into my head, not sure if anything’s been discussed like this in the past on here.

There are apps out there for locating a nearby pool hall or table. Im currently single & always say that I wish I could match with people with a specific similar interest on a dating app so I could find a fellow lover of cue sports 🤣 (besides the point)

But what if there was an app for pool where you could provide a description, include any relevant information like Fargo rating or league ratings, and then get automatically or manually sent matches. this way you could find similar level players to challenge, look for peers to hang out with or even create a league team or something of that nature.

I’ve been playing pool a lot in the past 6 months. In the beginning I was solely going to shoot by myself. But now, honestly I’ve made so many friends from just going by myself and looking for somebody to play, or by getting approached while I’m shooting alone. Im not a very social person, and pool has completely altered that for me.

However, I could imagine if a player was at a unique skill level (either high or low) or if they were in an area that is not familiar to them, an app like this could easily allow you to schedule a ‘pool date’ one might say, against a similarly skilled player ahead of time.

There’s no doubt some people will hate this idea, or call it corny at the very least. It sounds a little silly even to me while I write it out. And I’m sure gambling would become a big aspect of the app as it is in any pool environment which may or may not be problematic.

The whole reason I thought of it was because Im off work Fridays so I was just at my local hall for the first 4 hours it was open, but nobody I know was around or available to play. Let me know your thoughts ! Im not an app developer or anything either, I promise this is no advertisement lol
