Running away from my problems literally!
I find that after stressful or embarassing experiences (usually with interpersonal roots; currently an entirely benign, boring slew of drunk texts) I have the urge to run away. This usually involves fleeing to stay with my family, but I don’t have a car and can’t drive, so it doesn’t happen too often. I just lay in my childhood bed and eat and read and shut my phone off for days until I’m better. Call it hangxiety or the scaries but this feeling is awful and usually over-exaggerated.
It’s a good friend of mine’s birthday today and I might not show up to her party because I’m going home. I’m gonna lie and say I’m sick or my grandma wants to see me or something. But another one of my good friends is lucid and smart and cynical (and a rs_x lurker) so she will probably certainly connect those dots.
It’s like ennui mixed with anxiety mixed with disgust! But I do navel gaze and I am obsessed with myself so I don’t think it’s something I should worry about.
