My partner and I are absolutely loving this game. Scratching such a massive itch we bought the game on Sunday and have absolutely smashed it out every hour we’ve had available.

The first base I built was just made out of plant fibre and just a storage warehouse essentially - I knew I was gonna do something proper in the next zone, and when my partner and I sailed into this cove yesterday we knew we’d just found the perfect base.

Firstly, the island itself is perfect - mountains to the north and west, very narrow bay entrance that’s protected by said mountains, place for a fort + lighthouse combo at the mouth of the bay, and the bay is deep enough to get ships right up to the dock.

Secondly, man, the building system in this game is so fuckin peak.

I’m an amateur builder myself - I only really sunk my teeth into minecraft last year but had a blast there, but this game just excels in quality of life. This building system really rewards experimentation and fuckin around until you find what fits because all the goods are kept in storage and accessible with the bonfire and you can just destroy things and rebuild them so easily.

So yeah this morning I started building this beauty and it took me about 5 hours to get to the detailed point it is in this video.

Yeah, absolute blast. I’m ver proud of it so far, but it’s the building system that really shines.

On the other side of the dock I’m gonna add a tavern :)

Very proud of my first proper base!
