it is possible to beat the game without waiting?

What I mean is, I have played for a few hours and saved a screenshot of the map and marked all the important things and paths.but reached a point where (I think) I need to wait for some things in the map to "change" so I can explore new areas, aside from the Eternity Hall, which I haven't gone REALLY far yet. Am I missing something or I absolutely have to wait?
