How soon for Rockbox on 3.0.7?

Hey there. New owner of a Y1, Unfortunately reading after purchasing that Rockbox is not currently supported for the 3.0.7 out-of-box units. I could be wrong, but I do assume that this is something that will be addressed eventually, although i haven't followed the development of these products very much; Any idea when support will exist for these units?
Not in a rush, and would even be willing to donate to the development as i love this product already, but I'm just wondering if this is something that would be coming any time soon?

In my case, this is because I realized after importing a bit of music that the stock firmware doesn't sort by metadata track#. Not a huge inconvenience, as I know there are methods to batch adjust filenames, however I know Rockbox has metadata track# sorting.
