I miss the small things this series has done previously
I’m glad that a lot of bigger issues are being addressed in the game. But I feel like Battlefield 6 still isn’t that immersive as some of the previous series have been so far. The newer maps are certainly more immersive that the ones at launch, Contaminated and Eastwood have a lot going for it in that regard.
It feels like the game has moved a tad closer to a competitive sandbox than an immersive sandbox. What I mean by this is we don’t have vehicles exit animation since it doesnt really work well given the games tempo.
Even the High Brightness and sterilized feel of the map could be due to a push to less things that get in the way of the gameplay.
Vocalizations feel kinda barebones, even the announcers feel too flat. Like there is a tone and feel but its lacks more range. I wish this game had a bit more dark humour to it or a broader design range other than realism. Perhaps there were safer decisions made due to internal pressure, after all bf5 had a lot of design issue that were felt questionable and given how much the community what realistic soldiers gear that it made sense to just stick to a safe design style.
I doubt we’ll get as much immersion as there is in bf1 but I hope we get a little je ne sais quoi next year.
