Did I make things weird?

He decided not to hookup.

Then I say "well that's it. It was nice talking to you, have a great weekend"

He replies "not hooking up = not wanting to chat lol"

I understood as if he used the symbol "different" so I went and replied "Oh alright, you want to chat"

Then he said the same thing twice "You did that" while marking the text i mentioned at first "well that's it...." And his own text "not hooking up =" While I was trying to understand things. I even sent a audio saying "Wait, i'm confused you're telling me you want to chat or that you want me to go?" That's when he said "You did that" for the second time.

Did I make things weird? That was not my intention at all, but i'm not eager to apologize cus there's already a power imbalance cus he's hotter than me. I'm trying to save the little pride I have
