Toothache from clenching
I started feeling pain on one tooth from clenching. I’ve never had sensitivity to cold or hot but I have had slight pain/tenderness when chewing. I also had my bite adjusted in this tooth because it turns out my bite was high there. So I was hitting/clenching that tooth more than the rest. I had these symptoms on and off for about a year before I finally got a night guard for the top and retainer at the bottom.
My tooth felt almost completely normal after a few weeks of wearing a night guard. Recently I went on a trip and forgot my night guard. I didn’t wear it for 4 days. Now I’m starting to have the same symptoms on that tooth. It’s been 3 weeks since the trip and the symptoms persist even with wearing night guard again. There has only been a slight improvement. I sometimes get tenderness when chewing again and my jaw (where the tooth is) hurts when I open my mouth sometimes too. Should I give it a few more days to se if it resolves or should I go in to get an x ray?
