Opinion needed

Older men in your opinion, is meeting outside of apps strange? To clarify I'd prefer meeting in person rather online because I believe I'll be taken more seriously. But just approaching an older man in public seems intimidating as one can be unsure if he is single, or willing to accept the age gap.
