AIO if my friends say I'm too serious in a situation they should be too in?
I, 17F, am in a trio with some of the girls I love the most and they are my ride or die. However this past school year has been really full of drama and change, which I was expecting since it is junior year, but still, it has made me stressed out as I have college work and AP classes to worry about as well as my family.
My two friends have had their spout of issues this whole entire year, and it has driven me crazy. Yes I understand that I can't control people and there actions, but whenever I did give advice that could help better their situation as they kept going back, they would blatantly do the opposite, which again I know I can't control them, but it bothers me that they say "I'll do what I want anyways", or something similar, every time we had a conversation about my advice.
My thing is that they've told me straight to my face that if they listened to me, they wouldn't have dealt with or been in some of the situations they were in. A little while back they were on call together and added me later on telling what they had done, which what they did wasn't a super smart decision, as after they had told me and gotten my opinion (which I can admit it was a bit harsh) had they regretted what they did for a little amount of time (5 mins) before heading to the yolo mentality.
Throughout this school year (the situation started in August) they've told me a few times that I'm being too serious about it or I'm stressing too much about it. While yes, I know its not exactly my place to control what they're doing and I shouldn't actually be worrying about it since its not directly my situation, it has also caused myself issues by association. While we've finally come to a conclusion today (at least I hope), I was told yesterday that I'm stressing too much about the situation.
To give a little background, I had found out some information earlier that related to friend two's situation and decided to tell friend one after she had brought up friend two's situation. We had decided not to tell friend two in the case it sparks up the situation again causing more drama. Yesterday friend one ends up telling me she ended telling friend two about the situation. While yes the outcome was good and ended with a hopeful conclusion, I can't help but worry. (Sorry for not giving full details on the situation but the situation is very long and complex, and I don't want to say much of their business online)
Both their situations and them going back and forth with the situations has caused some serious trust issues in that aspect as I can help but feel like maybe this won't be the last time, or something will happen again as every time they told me it was done, it wouldn't be long after that they were back to the situations. While friend one has realized and stopped her situation earlier this year, friend two's situation was the main thing this whole year and has hopefully ended as of today.
I love my friends with all my heart, but hearing I'm too serious or I'm stressing too much in times of when they should've been a little more serious or stressed out about a situation hurts. I'm a very happy and cheerful person, but this year has really affected my levels of seriousness as I've felt like I've had to be like a manager.
Today was when I really put in more thought then usual since my friend two was asking for affirmations and ended up say "today's affirmation is not worrying about things you can't control".
I'm not quite sure what exactly I should do and I don't want them to not tell me things since they are my best friends and I just care for them. Our issue isn't that we are a trio, as we do a lot more communication then most groups and always try to include one another.
I'm just not sure if I'm being too emotional or overthinking about the situation. I need some advice of what to do, if this is something to even do something about since we've just come to a conclusion. So am I over reacting?
