Does Stardew Valley explain things too little, or is that part of the charm?

Discuss

I started playing recently and I‘ve noticed that the game doesn’t always give much guidance for certain things.

For example, I picked up a quest to craft a scarecrow, but I had no idea where to even access the crafting menu at first. I ended up spending quite a while figuring it out.

I get that the game leans into a more relaxed, discovery-based experience, and I can see how that’s part of the appeal. But at the same time, for players like me who don’t always enjoy figuring everything out on their own, it can feel a bit confusing.

Do you think the game strikes a good balance between exploration and guidance? Or did you feel the same way when you first started?
