Is this true or false?

I remember watching a youtube video that said " The term religion is a foreign concept which was forcefully introduced in the Indian subcontinent during the Islamic or British invasions which happened for many centuries. Hinduism and Buddhism were not supposed to be religions, but rather a collection of various different philosophies for seeking the ultimate truth". Now I am not able to find that video on youtube, but I remember the words - which I wrote here.

Kindly correct me if I'm wrong, and tell me whether this is true or false.
