How are people genuinely this willfully ignorant??

I am so fucking fed up with how stupid people are especially because I’m fucking surrounded by them. I live in a small town in northern Illinois. I love my town, this is where my parents met, where I have visited my grandparents my whole life, it is surrounded by multiple state parks, it is as beautiful as Illinois can be. However, I cannot stand most of the people. I would leave but it’s cheap, it’s near family, and there is a very small but growing community of people who seem to have a functioning brain.

There was a protest at the courthouse in town, more like a very small rally showing support to prioritize people over profit. The amount of cars that drive around in circles with don’t tread on me flags and trump stickers and we the people stickers and flipping us off and yelling absurdities when these protests occur is obscene. Someone posted a picture of one of the cars with an American flag that said we the people and don’t tread on me driving around praising them on the county Facebook page and the comments drive me up a fucking wall. Here is one of them:

The law of deportation of illegals has been around since 1919 I believe but illegals that are killing, raping,robbing American citizens and us tax payers are paying the bills financially as well….or is this about abortion(send your baby to the blender/shopvac) protest….you can hear a baby’s heartbeat at 6 weeks look it up and when you talk to God one day and say “my body my choice”

How fucking stupid are you. Do you not have two brain cells to rub together and have ANY critical thinking skills? These are the kind of people I have literally heard say out loud with passion that educated people are brainwashed godless delusional demons. Which reminds me that they are in fact that stupid. These people genuinely believe education is evil. AND THEY HAVE THE NERVE TO CALL US BRAINWASHED. Information, knowledge, wisdom are the only things that have gotten human evolution to where it is, YOU are brainwashed if you think spending your whole life never leaving this tiny ass town spending every night on your rotted recliner and feeling entitled to vote to make decisions about anywhere outside your town let alone the whole country or decisions that effect the whole world is okay. How in the fuck can you never have a single original thought or learn about other ways of life and still think you know what’s best for everyone!? All you do is regurgitate the bullshit fox spits at you without doing an OUNCE of your own research or even thinking. I’m sure you don’t even know what a primary resource is, not that things like government sites are reliable anyway.

I have tried talking rationally to these people, unfortunately some of them are family. It’s like talking to a damn brick wall. No amount of evidence can convince them. The most primary of primary sources doesn’t even convince them. They are so convinced everything has been altered for some sort of agenda, BUT REFUSE TO BELIEVE ITS POSSIBLE THAT THE INFORMATION THEY GET HAS ALSO BEEN ALTERED!

Normally I would just write this out in a note to feel better and delete it because I know this isn’t productive to be so fucking angry and hateful to the stupidest people on the fucking planet, but I am just extra pissed off today I guess. I tried to tone down some of the fuming fucking anger and pure rant in case someone actually reads this, so just know it could go on for SO MUCH longer and be SO MUCH worse. Literally someone announced that a farmers market was moving to Sunday morning through the afternoon today and so many people called them godless and terrible and that anyone who goes to church should never give this small business a dime ever again. YOU CAN GO AFTER CHURCH! Anyway, I’m done now.
