chat gbt and essays

okay so i wrote a very rough draft of my personal statement and asked chat gbt how it sounded. it suggested my direction to become more concrete in some areas, show tie to legal theory in others, and cut out some unnecessary moments. is that okay/ethical? not really taking ideas from chat more so using it to help point me to further area for research to bridge my experience to the legal path i want to go into.
