Cat question

Hey Y'all! I have an orange tabby, he's around a year old and recently for the past month and a half my cat will sit outside my door and cry until I open it (If I'm awake) and when I do open it he will jump all over me and rub his body on my face and hands. He will do this until he decides to sit on my bed with me and groom himself/sleep or leave. It always happens at night around the same time, I'm worried if this is a bad sign he is in pain or he's suddenly attached to me. I live with 3 other people and before this he was more interested in them.
