Let’s talk character building, my approach and what I’m still figuring out

Spoiler:SymbolSpeechBubble: General Discussion

Wuthering Waves is kinda my “first” real gacha experience. I played Genshin before this but never really stuck with it. Even with WuWa I bounced after 1.x, grabbed some 5 stars and left. Came back recently though and I’m genuinely having a blast. The story is awesome, the characters are amazing and the game feels pretty approachable overall, not that Genshin was rocket science but you know what I mean.

The one thing I keep wondering about is how to actually build characters efficiently. I used to work on multiple characters at once and quickly learned that’s a great way to run out of resources fast. So I switched to prioritizing DPS first, then sub DPS, then supports and that felt a lot more manageable.

For individual characters I’ve been going in this order: level them up first, then work on their Echoes, then talents. For talents I’ve just been leveling everything in parallel rather than focusing on one path at a time. Not sure if that’s actually efficient or not.

With Echoes I basically just look for Crit Rate and Crit DMG rolls. If an Echo has those I keep it, even if the 4 cost piece has a Crit DMG main stat with a Crit DMG substat on top of it.
I don’t know much about min maxing and honestly not sure how much it even matters at my level (Union Level 58).

So for those of you who’ve been building characters for the past two years, I’m curious what your thought process looks like. What do you actually prioritize, what are the mistakes you made early on that you wish you could take back and what’s the general mindset you bring to character building?
