Climate talk vs daily habits—what do we really follow?
People are discussing extreme heat, water scarcity, cutting trees, and unsustainable development.
Made me wonder – how many of us actually change our habits because of this?
I will start with the habits I have changed.
- carrying reusable water bottle instead of buying plastic bottles - even when i attend functions, weddings, I carry water bottle from home and even if i forget, i ask the caterer to keep only one plastic bottle for three of us.
- avoiding fast fashion, reusing things, buying second hand items whenever possible.
- disposing trash only in the dustbin, even if my child poops or vomits, I make sure to carry it in a trash bag and dispose only when I find a dustbin somewhere
- avoiding single-use plastics wherever possible, asking take-away orders in stainless steel containers, this way it is healthy for us as well. I’m not able to do consistently, but I try to do it whenever possible.
- respecting all natural resources and mindful usage
What are some small changes you actually manage to follow in daily life?
