**Company:** Shopify Inc.
**Ticker:** SHOP

**Report Date:** **May 5, 2026, before market open.**
**Conference Call:** **May 5, 2026 at \~8:30 AM ET.**

**📊 Wall Street Expectations (Q1 2026)**
**Estimated EPS:** about **$0.20 to $0.24**
**Estimated Revenue:** about **$2.05B to $2.15B**
Consensus reflects steady double-digit GMV growth with continued margin expansion.

**📈 Key Things Traders Are Watching**

**Gross merchandise volume (GMV) growth**
Core driver of the story. The market is focused on whether global e-commerce demand is still growing at a steady pace or normalizing after earlier post-pandemic volatility.

**Merchant Solutions revenue (take rate expansion)**
Main monetization lever. Investors want to see continued growth from payments, fulfillment, and value-added services without harming merchant retention or conversion.

**Subscription Solutions stability**
This is the recurring revenue base. Focus is on whether merchant additions and pricing are still supporting steady subscription growth.

**Shopify Payments penetration**
Key margin + revenue driver. Higher adoption of Shopify Payments increases both revenue per merchant and operating leverage.

**Operating margin expansion**
One of the most important metrics now. Shopify has been in a sustained efficiency phase, and the question is whether margin expansion continues alongside reinvestment in growth.

**International growth**
North America is mature; incremental upside comes from Europe and emerging markets. Investors will watch whether international GMV continues to scale.

**AI tools and merchant productivity gains**
AI is increasingly embedded across store creation, marketing, and analytics. The key question is whether this is improving merchant performance and increasing GMV per store.

**Last quarter for context**
In Q4 2025, Shopify reported about **$2.1B revenue**, **EPS around $0.22**, strong GMV growth, and continued margin expansion driven by Payments penetration and operating leverage.

**My read:**
For **SHOP**, this is a **GMV + monetization (take rate)** story first and a **margin expansion** story second. If results are in line but show GMV is still healthy, Payments adoption is rising, and margins continue expanding, that matters more than a small EPS beat or miss.
