SAC vs. EXT

EXT:

“Students who repeat passed courses in excess of the 1.0 credit of Second Attempt for Credit policy (or who opt to not use the SAC option for a repeated passed course), will have the retake indicated as an extra (EXT) course. In such cases, the course and the final grade are shown on the record, but the grade is not included in the CGPA and the credit is not counted.”

Im kinda confused about “not use SAC option*”*, so I could choose to retake a course in order to get into the program I want, however, my transcript only shows the first attempt grade and the first attempt is counted to cgpa?
