How many people have 100% with guides, and how many without? Does one or the other give a "better" experience?

Currently trying to decide between using guides to avoid frustration, or pushing through and risking getting sick of the game. What way did you do it? Was it more satisfying one way or the other? I've LOVED it so far and want to make sure im gonna get the best experience!
