VITAP and their horrible management system which is always against a student, intentionally or unintentionally

Others

This isn’t a request or a complaint expecting resolution — it’s just an honest account of what my experience has been at my university.

I’m a final-year student who opted to be a day scholar for my last semester and paid for the university transport system on time.

Despite being assigned to the very first stop on my route, I was often unable to get a seat. The reason? Seats would be “reserved” using bags, books, bottles, and other personal belongings. So even at the starting point, I’d sometimes have to get down and wait for a spare bus.

Evenings were worse. I’d wait until around 6 PM just to figure out if those “reserved” seats were actually occupied. Most of the time, they were. And if they weren’t, I’d end up running between buses that were already about to leave, trying to find any transport going in my direction.

When I raised this issue, I was told to use a different bus. But every time I got on it, the driver would complain that my stop wasn’t part of his route. On a couple of occasions, I was dropped far from my usual stop, forcing me to arrange transport late in the evening. As a female student, being left like that after dark is not just inconvenient — it’s unsafe.

At the same time, attendance was made mandatory for SDP students with promises of workspace and Wi-Fi.

In reality:

The designated workspace didn’t have enough room for everyone

Even when alternative spaces(labs in ab2) were officially allowed, security staff weren’t informed

Every day involved explaining permissions, showing emails, and being questioned again and again and again.

Basic access to rooms turned into daily arguments

And despite all of this, reliable Wi-Fi — one of the main reasons for being on campus — wasn’t available

Over time, this just became exhausting. Not because of one issue, but because of how consistently everything seemed to work against the student rather than for them.

One more thing:

If you’re someone who saves seats on buses for your friends, please understand that it directly affects others. It puts people in uncomfortable situations, especially those who genuinely need those seats after long days. If you have friends who do this, talk to them about it. It might seem small, but for others, it adds up to a daily struggle. One day, you might find yourself on the other side of this situation—and I genuinely hope you remember how this feels.

I’m not posting this expecting anything to change. Just putting it out there because this has been my reality for months.

And to the VIT-AP University community/admins—if you happen to see this, please take some responsibility for the systems in place. I may be leaving, but others will continue to face the same issues.
