Don't understand the mixed reviews. This game is a work of art.
I posted yesterday wondering if I should buy CD... had a few days off and I've spent about 13 of my 36 hours in the game and I'm absolutely floored... This is how video games felt between 2001-2010. I did about 4-5 hours of story to collect some skills and establish the camp, but since then I've just been exploring and it's equally overwhelming and beautiful.
Maybe I'm judging too fast, but this is the kind of game that hardcore console gamers have been begging for. The combat is slick, the puzzles make you think, the visuals ate stunning, and the lack of load screens keep you in the game. I'll check back in a few days when I'm deeper in, but just wanted to shout out a thanks to the commentors who pushed me to buy the game.. with the somewhat mixed reviews I was on the fence and you guys detailed responses (and the pic of Kliff petting an orange cat) sealed the deal... First game I've played in the $69.99 Era that feels like it's worth $69.99.
