Prospective neonatal nurse, what's it like? ALL of it?
Just wanted to ask about what a 'day-in-the-life' of a neonatal nurse is like. I already read alot about different experiences, but I am a huge empath. And a big reason i want to go into the field is not just because I know it is rewarding, but because I feel like I could fall in love with it. Seeing newborns, fresh out the womb, being able to nurse them and nurture them with love even while they're so little.
I want both the emotional and the logical perspective. How hard it is or easy it is to wake up knowing you get to work with those little, adorable alien looking babies. Do you feel awe? Have you gotten used to it? What shocks you the most? What are your worst experiences? WHY do you do this job?
I know the job market seems crap, do i still wanna hear about it? Duh.
I'm just big on feelings. Empty your heart out or something.. i wanna know everything.
Im conflicted between neonatal nursing and early childhood education, so I really need some insight. Anything is helpful!
