Why are women often so mean to me?

Now to preface this, i'm a very kind, polite and respectful man ( probably too polite for my own good) i mind my own business and being rude or disrespectful myself is simply not in my nature. Having said that, recently over the past year, many women that I come across with in my daily life, whether I'm grocery shopping, getting fast food or simply walking down the street, i've been harassed by women calling me homophobic slurs, laughing in my face and just generally being really rude.

This has become a daily occurance from multiple people.

I am lost for words why this is happening.
