Changing SIP Project for Pub?

I was admitted to SIP and received a great project. However, there is another project within the same subject, and the mentor is a professor with many publications in reputable journals. But i dont really like the professors project as much as the one I was placed in. In addition to this, my mentor is a new-ish PhD and doesn't have any good publications.

Should I try to transfer to the professors for a better chance of publication or keep mine as is?
