Test riding an S1000 at a BMW demo day a bad idea?

For context I just found out that BMW is doing a demo day near me tomorrow and something I really want to try out is the BMW S1000r but the issue is that I have 0 experience with liter bikes and don't want to make a dumb mistake.

I've been riding a royal enfield 650 for 2 years and have gotten on my friend's Ninja 500 a couple of times(a while ago) but that's it. Basically a coughing baby vs a hydrogen bomb situation. I just was interested in riding the S1000 since they were offering demos on it. Now I love motorcycles and exploring different styles, especially sport bikes but if you guys think this is a stupid idea, I will 1000% stay away and maybe just admire the bike from afar and look at the rest of their line up.
