chrome adult content blocker settings not working for me

I've been having the hardest time trying to get a chrome adult content blocker that actually works. I thought fiddling with the browser's settings would be enough, but nope, nothing seems to stick. It's super frustrating because every time I think I've finally figured it out, some random site slips through again. I even tried resetting my settings and starting from scratch, but that was just a waste of time. I'm really needing something reliable at the browser level, but all my attempts so far have ended up being a bust.

EDIT: Found something that actually works! Check out this extension that finally did the trick for me.
