Making Vaca Frita using leftover Lamb?

Hello! I received a meal subscription box that has the recipe for Vaca Frita, however they had to sub the braised beef they usually send out with ground beef--not my jam, at all, I am not a ground beef person. But I have some leftover slow roasted lamb which was only seasoned with shallots, carrots, salt and pepper so very neutral flavor profile. Can I substitute this out, do you think it will be weird?
