Is it a good choice to play Star Citizen with a steam controller?

As the title says, is this a good choice?

The Steam Controller is advertised as being able to perform most mouse actions with two touchpads. Does this mean that using the Steam Controller would be a good choice for games like Star Citizen, which are extremely unfriendly to controllers (of course, you can use software like rewasd to create complex mappings)?

After the release of the controller, will you choose to buy it and try to play it in the game?
