DARK/GOTHIC STYLE ppl i have a question

I'm genuinely curious to understand something.

All the goth-style images I see online, whether for guys or girls, are serious, sad, or angry...

What I don't get is why?

Is that really your style? The one you identify with? Then why the long faces and raw anger? Why don't you smile, why don't you ever have fun, and why don't you ever show positive emotions online?
