Are things TOO good?
I’ve been at my company for 2 years now. Started in an entry level role and was promoted to supervisor fairly quickly (5 months). Then after about a year and some change I moved to a different team within the same department as a manager.
The team mostly manages itself. A large portion of the staff have been with the company 2-3x longer than I have been and know the ins and outs of their trade. The only times they ever actually NEED me is when a customer is giving them a hard time and demands to see a manager, so I have to go defuse the situation which is no problem for me.
I have no problems with any of them. Anytime I have to discipline them they typically don’t give me a hard time. The only real issue is some of them will have an attitude towards customers that we’ll get a complaint about every now and again.
I don’t really have a question, I just feel kinda useless to them sometimes. Like I’m just a glorified babysitter. Anyone else have to manage teams like this?
