[Sun Care] Is mineral sunscreen or chemical sunscreen better for sensitive, red, but very oily clog-prone skin with acne?

Sun Care

Hi all!

Currently on the search for the right sunscreen. In the past I’ve always used chemical sunscreens, including beauty of joseon (blue version), purito soft touch, LRP anthelios invisible fluid and skin1004 water fit sun serum. Typically chemical sunscreens haven’t broken me out or irritated my skin. But since my barrier became damaged from actives, I feel as though my usual go-to sunscreens have been making me look more red and irritated all over my face (the only one that didn’t do this, and maybe even reduced my redness was the skin1004 sunscreen, but it would also give me these tiny red pimples by the end of the day that I didn’t have in the morning; maybe niacinamide sensitivity?) . For reference I do currently have active acne on my cheeks and lots of PIE.

I’ve heard that mineral sunscreens can be better for sensitive skin, so I’m considering trying one, but I’m concerned that this would clog my pores given that I’m incredibly oily and prone to comedonal acne (I am about to go on accutane for it).

Would love any advice/recommendations! If anyone has the same skin type as me I’d love to hear what you think :)
