What budget lens for basketball photography?

Hello All:

I am a complete beginner on this subject. I was recording indoor basketball games via my iPhone. However, we recently switched to a service that records games. So, I want to try my hand at action photography.

I was planning on borrowing equipment from a family member. They have a Canon M50 body and three lens: a Canon 18-135mm, Canon 15-45mm, and Nikon 50mm.

CharGPT says these lenses aren’t good for indoor basketball. Would like to get a second opinion.

My budget for a new lens would be ~$500
