The more I eat, the hungrier I feel. what’s going on?
Lately I’ve been noticing a pattern with how I eat and it’s starting to bother me.
Whenever I start eating (especially snacks or processed stuff), it doesn’t feel that I am done even my tummy gets looking like pregnant women 🥲. The more I eat, the more I want to eat. It feels less like hunger and more like momentum, like something in my brain just gets switched on and won’t turn off.
I though it was natural and just me lacking discipline. Paying some consciousness to my health. I found, this things happens with me when I eat processed food. Like I used to get exhausted of eating mango even I fond of it at some limit, meanwhile I can eat chocolate or snack throughout the day.
I recently came across the idea of “bliss point” engineering. Basically, in this food companies design products to hit this perfect combo of sugar, salt and fat to keep us craving more. And honestly, it kind of matches what I am experiencing. Knowing that there is separate branch of science that is working just to make us stick with their product, IT WAS CRAZY ! Also there are DESI food item, which work on same idea, like chatpate, panipuri, ... and other junkfood.
I’m not saying it’s some huge conspiracy, but it does make me wonder how much of this is actually me and how much is the way these foods are designed.
Has anyone else felt this? Like once you start eating certain foods stopping becomes the hardest part?
