How can I break free from this Rank-Down Spiral?

I played support characters like Kelvin and Dynamo for a while and reached rank 5 in Ritualist.

However, everything changed when I started losing streaks. My teammates stopped letting me win, and the team rank in the results screen kept dropping below my own rank.

I imagine that while the matchmaking level changes based on win or loss streaks, the actual rank is used to balance the team. In other words, when I'm on a winning streak, I'm the lowest rank, so I can win as long as I don't become a feeder. But when I'm on a losing streak, I'm treated as the strongest player on the team, so I have to play ADC or we'll lose.

Has anyone else felt the same way? I feel bad for my teammates, but is the only option for them to practice ADC and lose until their rank drops to one that truly reflects their skill level?
