Golden Khanate, Explained!
I have been a long-time fan of Trench Crusade, and two things have always been a mystery for me. One, why is the God of the universe so silent. And two, why is the Golden Khanate still alive while its religion remains unknown. Well, I found the reason for both. Introducing Tengrism! Believe in one supreme God, named Tengri. Unlike the Abrahamic God, who keeps meddling in earthly affairs (and in Jewish, Christian, or Muslim belief, would never allow for the world to be partially occupied by demons for 800+ years), Tengri is mostly silent. Tengri only sometimes helps his faithful, just to restore balance, but not to fully destroy evil like the Abrahamic God. Sounds familiar? In Trench Crusade, God intervenes through the Synod of Strategic Prophecy, and manifesting an Iron Wall, but He doesn't show up fully. The best part? The Tengri belief is... complicated. But some interpretations involve demons. Historically, Tengrism was a Steppe religion held by the Mongol Empire before converting to Christianity, Islam, and Buddhism. So the vague "unknown" label on the Golden Khanate could be them maintaining their ancient Tengrism. and henceforth having the same amount of protection as other Monotheistic religions, with their superior interpretation of the silent God. Share your thoughts on my idea below, because I genuinely believe I might be onto something.
