First of all, who the fuck cares about blood purity unless you are a literal fascist? Please don't.

This post is about dumb people who feel proud because the characters they like have descendants. It's not really about Black fans per se. I mean, if you are a Rhaegar fan who thinks Rhaegar has some legacy because of Jon, this applies to you as well.

The most obvious examples are Robert and Stannis. Could they care less that they had a Targaryen ancestor who came as a child bride because Grand Lyonel kicked some ass? Other than the Targaryens, every other house in Westeros doesn't care if they are pure or not.

There are two things that matter in a feudal world: reputation and legalism. As long as your claim is true and your legacy won't be stolen by someone who is not your heir, you are good. What matters more in Westeros is upbringing, customs, sigils, and religion.

Look at Rhaegar vs. Jon.
Rhaegar is a Seven-worshipping cunt who wants to kill a Baratheon rebel and enjoy a minor Stark girl.
Jon is an Old God follower trying to make a Baratheon king and wants to save a 12-year-old Stark girl from that rapist Ramsay.

And no, Daemon wouldn't be proud of his daughter being a breeding machine for the Hightowers.
\*"I would rather feed my sons to the dragons than have them carry shields and cups for your drunken, usurper cunt of a king."\* — rogue pedo Daemon Targaryen.

Stannis thinks of Rhaenyra as a usurper.
Robert thinks this about his connection to the Targaryens: \*"That little dragon blood came in well. But do you want to know the truth of it? I took it. I sit on the Iron Throne, and I rule the Seven Kingdoms."\*
Viserys III regards Rhaenyra as a \*"stupid Targaryen princess who tried to steal her brother's crown."\* Not that his opinion matters, but it is so.

I'm not saying this as a Green argument. A Team Black fan can take pride in Daemon Blackfyre's mother, who loved Daemon Targaryen, or Arianne Martell, who at least thinks of them neutrally.

Also, a historical example at the end: while most Ottoman emperors had Christian mothers, they were still heads of the Muslim world and killed off millions of Christians. Today, a Greek doesn't feel nationalistic toward them because they don't share that upbringing.
