I'm setting up a fish room in my basement. Tips?
I'm a new time breeder.
At the moment, I have four tanks consisting of Bloody Mary shrimp, blue dragon guppies, and soon-to-be medakas. I'm cleaning out a small room in my basement that hasn't been used in many years to be a fish room.
I plan on adding one double rack for approximately 50 gallons this year, as well as a small tank stock pond, probably about 50 gallons, to mostly grow plants in. What are some fish/plants I should stock the rack and pond with? Here's some things I was thinking about:
Racks:
- Another strain of guppy, preferably moscow or red dragon guppy.
- A species of cichlid, like krebensis or convicts, or maybe rams.
- More neocaridina shrimp
Pond:
- Another species of medaka, preferably yokihi or orochi.
- Java fern
- Amazon swords
- Hornwort
Is there any other species of fish or plant I should look into? These are just a list I came up with in five minutes, so I might've overlooked something.
