I was sexually assaulted last night and he’s claiming sleepwalking.
My heart rate has been so high all day and it’s all I can think about.
I (19) am a trans woman living in the men’s dorms at my college, and last night I forgot to lock my door and I woke up to someone in my room touching my genitals. When he realized I was awake he froze, then slowly left as I lay there in shock and fear. I was able to see who it was in the light of the hallway. I then woke up my roommate and they said they heard the door repeatedly opening and closing. I woke up my RA who then called the police. Today, I met with the detective working on the case, and said he doesn’t think they can arrest him, but the university knows and he may get some punishment from them. He also told me that both the culprit and his roommate say that he’s a very heavy sleeper, and that his roommate has heard him walking around their dorm at night several times.
I don’t want to blame him if it’s not actually his fault but I just don’t know what to think. I feel like it’s weird that if it was sleepwalking that itd happen to the only girl on the floor. Not only that, but when my RA asked if he had gone into my room before the cops arrived he asked if “there was anyone there for him” which I think he meant the police but I don’t know.
i just don’t know what to think and I cant relax or focus on exams or studying.
