Beware of the ABUS Yardo lock

I thought I'd be the cool kid on the block and purchased the Yardo (for a decent but still expensive price) and it has failed me repeatedly. First the factory battery died after a couple of weeks and the replacement only lasted another few before it would read the finger print but not unlock (I'm carrying a spare battery and a screw driver 14/7 now) and this weekend it failed to read any finger I had programmed. ABUS is now telling me I have to cut it off and go through the warranty process at my LBS. I purchased directly from them. Weird

You'd think the would have a backup key.

I've asked if I can get a regular key lock as replacement instead. Beware.
