AIO for feeling like my sister goes out of her way to make me look dumb?

I’ve been feeling for a while now like my older sister is really critical of me, and sometimes it even feels like she goes out of her way to embarrass me.

For example, the other day we were going out to eat with a friend. I was wearing an oversized sweater that covered down to mid-thigh, and I grabbed a pair of pajama shorts to wear under it, bc you literally couldn’t see anything.

She immediately goes “wtf, you are NOT wearing that, that’s basically underwear, why are you going out with your ass out?” and kept going on about it for like 20 minutes. Not even exaggerating. She was joking about it with our friend too, saying I was basically going out in underwear.

It made me feel so uncomfortable that I changed into jean shorts… that were the SAME LENGTH. And suddenly she had nothing to say.

Another time I wore this really soft, thin top to bed because it was comfortable. The next morning she was like “there’s no way you slept in that, that’s basically lingerie, that’s so uncomfortable” and when I said it was actually comfy, she told me I was “lying to myself.”

She also has this habit where if we disagree on something, she has to ask other people and get them to agree with her. And they usually do, so I just end up feeling stupid.

Even smaller things—like when I get ready for school (outfit, light makeup, hair), she’ll make comments about how she never tried in high school and would show up looking a mess. She doesn’t say it directly, but it feels kind of backhanded, like she’s implying I’m doing too much.

I don’t know if I’m overthinking or if this is actually weird behavior. It just makes me feel judged and kinda embarrassed sometimes.

Has anyone else dealt with something like this? Am I reading too much into it?
