What will happen after 15 extra points?

So I've here that after your 3rd expedition you will no longer receive any more skill points. Without that as an incentive I doubt I'll keep doing them.

Anybody a have any idea of what they might offer? Will it really just be more expensive, scrappy stuff and stash space? If so I won't be doing it again, but the silver lining is I won't have to redo all the blueprints.
