fingerprint trouble

Anyone else facing fingerprint trouble for sign in? To be clear, I do have a screen saver stuck on the screen, but that should not be a problem for fingerprint or at least that's what the screen saver features claimed.
I have never been able to sign in with my fingerprint, I have tried several times, removing and adding them.
Is there a way to solve this, other than not using a screen saver?
