Is Splatoon 2 multiplayer still active?

I didn’t play much of Splatoon 2, and recently I felt nostalgic for Splatoon, so I’m thinking of playing some of it online, if people are still active for turf war and/or ranked matches.

I also plan on playing the story mode and octo expansion, as I’ve never done that before either. Though this is beside the topic.
