Why "No Complaints" Does Not Mean You’re Not Losing Bookings
I felt like I had to make my own post after reading through that other thread. First off, props to the host I’m piggybacking off of because he actually invested in TVs for his place.👏
It’s crazy to me that while I’m looking for unique wow-factor upgrades to stand out, some of you are leaving thousands on the table because you don’t want to spend a night or two of profit on TVs.
We have to stop hosting for our own personal tastes and start hosting for the market.📈
I see so many hosts saying they don't have them because it’s not the vibe of their place or they personally don't need them. Let's be real here. Your personal vibe doesn't pay the mortgage, bookings do. You’re basically forcing a lifestyle on people who are paying to be comfortable. If a guest doesn’t want the TVs, they don’t have to turn them on. It’s that simple. But for the people who need a show to wind down or background noise to sleep😴, it’s the difference between a confirmed stay and a pass.
To the hosts saying you don’t have TVs in the bedrooms and never get complaints, you aren't getting complaints because those people just aren't booking you in the first place. They see the lack of TVs in the photos and move on to the next listing. I literally did this myself two weeks ago. I chose a less desirable property specifically because they had TVs and the nicer place didn't.
If you aren't at 100% occupancy, TVs aren't an expense. They’re an investment that pays for itself in a single weekend. Stop handing your bookings to the competition over a vibe that is costing you thousands.
