One thing I have noticed after working with multiple brands as a Social Media Manager.
Most clients ask the wrong questions about social media.
They ask things like:
❌ "Why are we not going viral yet?"
❌ "Why is our follower count not growing faster?"
❌ "Why is nobody engaging with our posts?"
❌ "Why are our competitors doing better than us?"
And honestly they are not really looking for an answer.
They just want to hear: "We will fix it. We will post more."
But here is the thing. That mindset solves nothing.
The brands I have seen grow consistently asked completely different questions.
✅ "Are we talking to the right audience?"
✅ "Is our content actually solving a problem for someone?"
✅ "Are we giving people a reason to follow us or just a reason to scroll past?"
✅ "Do we have a real strategy or just a posting schedule?"
Because most social media problems are not content problems.
They are strategy problems.
Let me give you a common example.
A brand complains their Instagram is not growing. The first thing they do is post more. Then they change the design. Then they blame the algorithm.
But when you actually dig into it the real problem is almost always the same.
They have been creating content for themselves not for their audience.
The content looks good but it does not connect.
It fills a schedule but it does not solve anything.
And no amount of posting frequency fixes that.
The brands winning on social media right now are not the ones posting the most.
They are the ones who took the time to understand exactly who they are talking to and what that person actually needs to hear.
That one shift changes everything.
To my fellow brand owners and marketers what is the most common wrong question you have heard about social media?
